To the Friends of Schooner Lena Blanche
We are excited to announce that on August 8 (weather/conditions permitting) we will be moving the vessel from the boat shed where it is currently, to our lower yard across the street where it will winter and undergo preparations for a spring launch.
This is a significant event for us in the building of the schooner and an opportunity for us to finally see the entire boat.
If anyone would like to attend you are welcome. Please note, though, that there will be a lot going on that day and there are some safety precautions:
Please park away from the work areas and please respect our neighbours by not parking in their driveways
Please try to avoid where there are or will be moving vehicles
As much as we love children and animals, this will not be a time to bring them.
Please come at 10 or after to allow for us to set up and take down whatever needs to be done with as little risk to you all as possible
Of course we will be working as safely as possible but it will be an 'at your own risk' event.
This could take a couple of hours or a day or 2 depending on the situations that arise, so come prepared.
We look forward to seeing those who can make it and to those who can't we will try to put up as many pics as possible for you to enjoy.
Should anything change before then we will put a notice up here on Lena Blanche's page.
Thank you all for your support over the years. We love you all.
