Pine Logs
We got the first shipment of pine logs today for the planking for the vessel. They were delivered by Bruce Hill. He owns a trucking company here in Truro. The 12 logs that he delivered filled the truck to its weight capacity for the road. The logs range from 29' to 40' and one of them is 33" in diameter. We can't wait to start sawing these. They need to dry after sawing for approx 1 year because of the amount of shrinkage. They'll be sawn about 2 3/4" and then planed to 2 1/2".

Bruce Hill's dad was from Moose Brook which is where we moved to from Seal Harbour. We actually bought our house there from Bruce's dad Ern. Small world :-)
